Elise Harlow Newport Beach nutritionist

Welcome to The Flourished Table!

I'm Elise Harlow, a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist based in Newport Beach, CA with a love for all things food.

I provide virtual nutrition coaching, quick consults, and personalized meal planning services.

As a child, my mom taught  me how delicious real, home cooked food can be. Her commitment to providing our family with real whole foods piqued my interest in nutrition. Now, my goal is to help you integrate nutritious food into your busy lifestyle so you can feel your best from the inside out.

I am originally from Texas but Southern California is my new home. I enjoy anything outside especially the beach, hiking, picnics, reading a book by the pool, as well as anything that involves cooking and food.

My Philosophy

I believe that eating should first and foremost be enjoyable.

We should not be choking down certain foods just for the sake of health. We should also not be completely avoiding foods that we love because they have been labeled as "bad". The key to reaching lifelong health is balance. We don't just eat because we have to. We also eat for pleasure and we shouldn't have to sacrifice that for the sake of health.

Many people have the mindset that eating healthy means they should be restricted from delicious food. I feel passionately about showing people that these two things are not mutually exclusive.

Physical & Mental Health

Eating foods that we truly enjoy is important to both our mental and physical health. Some food may be nourishing to our physical body while other food may nourish our soul. Both are important but finding the middle ground between the two can be difficult.

Although I am a Registered Dietitian by trade, I am human first. Humans are not meant to be perfect. The same goes for food. There is no one perfect way to eat. I believe enjoying your food is just as important as the nutrients in your food. My goal is to help others make sustainable changes that include food that is both enjoyable and nutritious.
